Paola Ponti Mantua, 1971, began her career in fashion and design; as soon as she graduated, she collaborated with several fashion companies, designing and planning various collections. She then began a period of collaboration with a well-known company in the Mantua area specialising in design and furniture, followed by a brief experience in France to learn a new trade: interior decorating.
She embraced the world of contemporary painting for several years, developing her own language focused on matter and gesture, creating large-scale works with a strong impact.
In recent years, she has devoted herself mainly to installations and research in the field of performing arts, using exclusively her own body exclusively as a primitive form of language exclusively, collaborating with photographers and other artists, and working with experimental theatre collectives.
She has staged various performances in art spaces, galleries, exhibitions, and events.
This past year, after a long period of reflection, she resumed her collaboration with ARTLAB Galleria in Pavia in the splendid setting of Palazzo Bottigella Gandini, which has already hosted her in other performances, Crisalide in 2016 and Sudario in 2015. This new performance project stems from a beautiful and heartfelt meeting of souls with the artist Ines Valentinitsch, a painter and performer (capable of investigating and depicting the human soul through her rapid gestures).
A brief but intense appearance in Puglia in the province of Brindisi, with Sudario30, in which the pain of loss and conflict connects with the audience, who are unexpectedly drawn in.
