Antonio Conte

Naples 1981

Antonio Conte was born in 1981 in Naples, where he lives and works. In 2009, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and began to devote himself to painting.

Antonio Conte's pictorial language shows similarities to the intense chromaticism of the fathers of Pop Art and the spirit of Dada, to which he often pays homage by creating puns and seeking out crossovers with other artistic disciplines. Furthermore, his histrionic streak pushes him to engage the viewer through active participation, play, and humor.

Over the years, he has experimented with sculpture and installation, which accentuate the relational nature inherent in his conception of art, but his preferred medium is painting, which has allowed him to revisit the cornerstones of his training and develop his own distinctive stylistic signature.
